Naar aanleiding van een gedichtje [zie Poems] dat ik heb geschreven toen ik 14 jaar oud was. Verkreeg verleden jaar de omschrijving ‘moderne versie van het meisje met de zwavelstokjes‘. Het leverde mij een plaats op tussen de beste 10 van schrijfwedstrijd ‘Schrijf Je Reis’.

Een verstrooide professor die even zijn verstand lijkt te verliezen als een natuurramp de kust van toekomstig Nederland bedreigt. Dat was het concept voor dit verhaal, dat in de schrijfwedstrijd ‘Tell A Story’ werd beloond met een tweede prijs.

“Natuurbehoud is alleen voor de rijken” was het thema van de essaywedstrijd verbonden aan de Victor Westhofflezing 2010. Mijn mening over natuurbehoud in ontwikkelingslanden heb ik schetsmatig weergegeven in de circa 1000 woorden tellende brief aan Thomas Robert Malthus, die mij een nominatie tussen de drie beste essays opleverde.
